In the news....

There was some interesting coverage of the Town Hall meeting held on May 1st, though hardly a tidal wave. Perhaps the DHS should do better public outreach after all so that more folks are aware of the issue. One Town Hall gathering open to the public and four other meetings each with "around 100" attendees hardly seems enough (though one could argue it's more time than Congress got to spend debating the Act when it was tacked on to a spending bill).

The Mercury News had a good summation of the meeting, as did the UC Davis daily, the California Aggie. And as noted here earlier, Wired had a good write-up as well.

There's also been some coverage of the announcement of 43 (now up to 50) groups uniting in a drive to submit comments on the Real ID Act ahead of the May 8th close of the public comment period -- the article in FCW.com and mention in Homeland Stupidity's Who wants a national ID?" are good examples.
